I'm sorry folks (Nic) I have been SO ABSENT! My poor blog has been completely...whats that called when you don't take care of something? I don't know, I'm pretty tired and I can't think...whatever it is, that's what my blog is ;) If you all are wondering wherever has Emily gone...I'm still here! Here I am Here I am!!! I'm just a very very busy mama! In the begining of November I moved out on my very own for hte first time ever. Yes yes I lived at my parents until I was 25. But me and the little peach are on our own and I am the lucky worker of 3, count em, 3 jobs! I snuck back into the Insurance Industry this month part time and so far so good! I'm really liking it, it's a very small office here in my very small town :) So I do that 3 days a week, I clean a very gorgeous and very huge house one day a week and then there is of course and most importantly my photography! Things are going well, my website is FINALLY UP!!!! Ohhh linky here my friends. So sorry I didn't share that sooner. It's taking a while to build it up with all the business (I'm trying to spell busy-ness there actually). So slowly but surely things will come together and things will stay updated. Just gotta find my flow! Anyhoo, enough of me and my tired blabbing, here are some shots I took of my very good friend a bit ago, I have known her since we were out kids age. How trippy is that! She is about to be the proud mama of twins!!! Today actually now that I think of it, TODAY was the day! I can't wait to meet the little pumpkins :)Anyways, I'm working on a wedding right now so I haven't had time to process more than these 3, but I do love these 3 very much and I hope you do too! I'll give you a little something since you asked so nicely and I love you so much :) It's all true, my life is crazy busy right now!!! I'm so excited that my start in Photography is being so warmly accepted and I've been lucky enough to photograph some very beautiful people! Also I'm currently packing up my little life here and moving it about 40mins up the west coast! I'm very excited because I have never lived away from my parents before, even when I had my baby girl they were so so so great about it all and supported me through this difficult time! But, it's time now to depart and start our own little household :) So anyways it's a very cute little cottage and I'm very excited! So that is what I've been up to and it explains my absence....hopefully haha. Here is a little sneek peek at a wedding I did last weekend. Sorry Nic, nothing you haven't seen before haha. K it has been SO LONG...soooo ever long since I posted, I'm in editing mode about now and have some pix to share. It seems like ever since I got back from Quilt Market in Portland...wayyyy back in MAY, I haven't had a moment of time for any online business at all! Real life was calling and wanted to be enjoyed :) So anyways, if anyone ever even reads my blog anymore, I had such a great opportunity to help shoot a wedding with my ever so fun friend Gyl. It was GREAT. More than great, awesome people, fun people, willing people. Loved every minuet of it!!! Here are some shots I got. I havn't edited many cause I'm still working on my first wedding...and I don't want to commit editing adultery...that would just be wrong lol.

I am SO freakin excited to tell you that I am now the new owner of the ever awesome Nikon D80. YAY ME!!! I have been wanting one for a long long time. I fondled alot of cameras in alot of camera stores...alot. I always came back to the D80 though. It just feels good in my hands :) I got to take a few pictures yesterday, but more today, but I haven't left auto mode yet. That would take concentration, I didn't have any of that today. I'm a little bit worn out feeling, on account of the kid and her constant constant whining and complaining. Now that the sun has come out, it's worse than ever. She says it's too shiny...yah duuuhhhhh...and what am I supposed to do about that? Anyways, there is only so much one can take before one starts to just shut their brain off in order to just survive the day until bedtime. Then the brain can come back on, but it's not like it's in smart mode really. Ok blaa baaa blaaaaaaaaaa. Let's get to the point I just wanted to share this photo I took today with my new nikie... yah, I just called it a nikie... and what?

Us girls at Limevine are having our very first guest launch! It started on May 1st and lots of gorgeous auctions are currently running with more to come :) This has been the funnest group of ladies that joined in to party on the Vine! Not to mention the mass amounts of talent and creativity...and FUNNY! Oh my. Ok so here is my design, the skirt is mad full! I couldn't get a decent twirling shot though cause one time Taya fell down when I told her to twirl and now she is just so sure that she is going to fall again. I tell her she won't fall and she makes herself fall down on purpose just to prove me wrong. The words of Rafiki come to mind here.... It starts. Anyhoo, the launch, every listing just looks amazing! Ya know I'm really not one for wearing converse myself, but when I saw these little beauties sitting in the shop, I just HAD to have them. I even waited 6 whole months to get them too! Finally last week they became mine :) HOW cute is that Little Red Ridinghood?!?! And those little mushrooms!!! And the turquoise/red combo!!! Oh my word I love it!!!! I mean this is probably the only pair of converse I will ever own, but totally the best pair ever :) They are part of the 1hund(red) Artists thing that Converse is doing. These ones are by Camilla Engman. Anyhoo, that's all I got! Back to sewing for me!

Well, I have no idea what I'm doing and I need some help. I want to start selling locally but the locals are not interested in paying the kind of money I'm used to getting online KWIM? So I need to sell simpler things. The only problem is that I need to buy fabric wholesale and I don't know how to go about doing that. It's a shame that I like my hair best about 12 hours after it's been washed and done. Which is usually when I'm on my way to bed or just laying around on the couch, and usually about 4-6 hours too late. When it's freshly washed, its frizzy, when I straighten it, it's flat. I use a root....fluffer upper, whatever that's called...and it does work...but like I said, it still looks best 12 hours later when I've run my hands through enough times to calm the frizz and it's straightened itself and the ends have curled themselves under. Ah well, maybe someday there will be someone else around to enjoy my good hair at that time of the evening :) Anyhoo, just sharing that little bit that was on my mind and also I have this little number ending in the morning. So far no action on it, but it's one of my favs (do I really say that ever time?). And I have this here adorable dress available on Fleurlenfant.com And last but not least I have these two resells available and ending in a day and a bit. Welp, that's all for now I suppose. I'm headed for a teensy trip up Island tomorrow for lunch with family. I used to live there for two years and it sucked a butt. Just a visit should be ok though ;) alrighty, laters!!!

Little Taya has added Tap to the dance roster! She loves ballet too so I picked a class that is half ballet then half tap. These dang shoes cost a fortune!!! And she said they were too slippery and took them off. Harassed for MONTHS I have been, a jillion dollars I spend....and she takes them OFF. Jerk! But I think it would help if the teacher didn't have them running from one end of the room to the other in them? Plus there are mirrors on the wall and most of the kids just stare at themselves the whole time, so now they are watching themselves run with the slippery shoes...it's not good. Hopefully next week will be better. Those are my baby's striped leggies there :) Can't get enough of these striped knee socks!!! Ballet tights suck! First off-they don't match ANY bodysuit I could ever find. Secondly-they snag and pill real easy. Third-they stain real easy. Fourth-they cost too much. Fifth-you can only use them one place. Sixth-they get that little old man wrinkly loose skin look right at the ankle and that really drives me crazy. And seventh-people love striped knee socks! I suppose the fifth reason could go for the bodysuit, tutu and footwear too... but whatever. Anyhoo, just wanted to share that little pickie! It's so hard to get a good shot...them there 3 yer olds is wiggley!

So Taya keeps sitting on the toilet without putting her kid seat on there. And she falls in every time. It's at the point where this is now ticking me off. I have given her the lecture about putting on her seat so many times it's not even funny. So tonight I'm givingher the lecture, because once again she has fallen into the toilet, "You HAVE to put on your seat Taya, the seat is for girls with little bums like yours so they don't fall in! You have a little bum so you need a little seat! " and she replies "Yah, only mama has a big bum" .......ok ummmm.. totally not my point but whateveeeerrrr! "Yah...that's right..."

More like PS I love Jeffrey Dean Morgan! Oh man guys, you GOTTA see this movie! Love love loved it! Bring kleenexes cause you will definitely cry. I cried alot so that means you will probably cry at least half as much as I did. I'm really bad with the crying thing. I always imagine that whatever terrible thing is happening, is happening to me. Especially when people die. Ugg that is the WORST! But on the bright side, a nice...very nice bright and sunny side side...you get to see Denny naked. Yes, that's right ladies... naked Denny. And it's as good as it sounds :) And plus he sings, and plays guitar... and carries a bail of hay... a big heavy one:) Also there is Harry Connick Jr, and Gerard Butler. So pretty much it goes cry, drool, cry, drool, cry, drool... Well you get the idea. I love it, can you tell? I hope I get to marry one of those men that get better looking as they age, like George Clooney or Jeffrey here. I gotta give Hillary Swank props too, she was really good! Prolly why I cried so much. And this is definitely not a movie you go see with guys. Go with girls for sure! K, g'night!

The Wonder Years was one of my fav shows. I was wondering why the heck haven't I seen it in so long? Oh, that's because they don't put it on tv, which is totally stupid, I would rather watch it than any of the other 50 shows in syndication in which Frasier once again plays Frasier. Anyhoo, The Wonder Years was on 3 times today, Christmas episodes. Desperate for more, I looked it up on youtube and found this. It's so funny! But so true. Ohhh I love this vest :) When I saw it I just had to snaggle it away for us :) After I initially saw it, I went back and *gasp* they were totally all gone :( SO I had to eBay it up hehehe. I was actually able to get a few pix this afternoon before we jumped into the car. It's so dark and wet and yucky out and the skies are too bright and it stinks for me who's camera by the way is dying a slow death. The warranty ran out 2 months ago, of course it's started it's decent into nonworkingville. Whatev, hopefully I will find the time to get on the sewing train again and make me some 'new camera' dollars :) Anyhoo, here's the only shot that turned out.

Oh and P.S.- You can see that the self inflicted mullet is growing out now and quite easily camouflaged with a good ole fashioned combover!

Well, hello everyone! Not that much exciting things going on and the weather has been to crappy for any photo sharing really. But I did just get this totally awesome kitchen for Taya and she LOVES it to death!!! Sure, it came in 45,000 pieces... And yah, it did take 5 hours to put together. And mmm hmm, you do have to spend just as much on fake food and mini cooking paraphernalia as you do on the kitchen itself.... but it's definitely worth it :) The good news is that she didn't pee her pants when I dramatically unveiled it. She peed her pants a second time, the next visit to that same boutique when she was playing with that kitchen. Needless to say that I flew solo when picking up the pretend food from there. Anyways I have never eaten so many pretend samwiches in my life, and I think her baby doll is pretty full too. I love that she loves it so much :) Usually, you get them a new toy and it's old news the next day. I think this one will really last :) Well ta-ta for now!

It's come, it's been and it's on it's way out! There were actually a few DRY days in the first parts of autumn! Luckily for me it was one of the days we ventured to Goldstream Park for a little nature walk. More pictures to come. This is just a quick post before I go to bed! ...not really. Do you ever just write "LOL" too many times? I do sometimes totally. And I'm not even laughing out loud at all. More like smiling and snickering or snorting or something. I'm talking about the season premier of Desperate Housewives. That sucked. Well maybe it didn't SUCK, but it was not very exciting at all. I don't like this whole Edie and Carlos thing. It's just annoying. I liked it better when Edie was a lonely skank pretending not to be lonely. I found the new neighbors kid not being the same kid kind of predictable and too obvious. Leave something to my imagination won't you? What is this? The Zack storyline all over again? Anyhoooooo, disappointed is all. It was no Grey's Anatomy, now that was good!

Well by the 42.7 times I have seen Cinderella in the past week it seems we have moved on fromthe "Dora, Diego, Telletubbies & Blues Clues" stage! I guess it's on to Cinders and Nemo and the likes. It's bittersweet. As much as I have grown to love those precious characters *snort* It just goes to prove that baby girl is getting older. I don't like it! She is 3 plus 2 months now. I really didn't think she would get older than 1. Once again time is tripping me out!!! Speaking of getting old, does anyone notice that Candy Corn really tastes like fruity plastic and not the glorious deliciousness I thought it was when I was a kid? Weird!!! It also just cut my finger opening the container. Stupid fruity plastic piece of crap! Hmm what else. It's getting cold here. Not that it was ever that hot, but now it's really getting cold. And leaves are starting to fall. And it was raining for a couple days. It's sunny today, but it's still cold. Inside the house it is anyhow, I HATE waking up to coldness. HOW can I get out of bed when it's cold? Once my feet get cold there is no heating me up. I hate iiiiitttttttt. We have a furnace that does the whole house but it takes the temp in the upstairs hall. That doesn't really help ME downstairs. I freeze, they boil. Whatever man. Here we go again with the on and the off and the on and the off of the space heater that I will once again be at the mercy of. Friggin heater. Ok enough complaining, have a nice day!!!!! :)

Oh FFFRIGGG. Get this one. I went to the drugstore to grab something and Taya was a rotter the wholeeee time. She was being so bad and I kept saying I was gonna pinch her if she didn't start being good. So she goes "no your not" in one of those sing songey types of cheeky-arse manners(first time she has ever done that) So I pinch her cheek and she starts crying SOOOOOO loud and won't stop. That is pretty usual...that is not the bad part yet, ok, it happens, crying happens in the store sometimes. K THHEENNNNNN, we are in the check out line, she freaking picks her nose and then tries to get rid of it on the magazine rack!!!!! Believe it or not that is NOT the worst part yet :( The guy behind her is like "Ohhh nooo that is not the right place for that, a tissue is the right place, if you put it there, then other people get your boogers" OHHH MYYY GGGGGOODNESS I WAS MMMOOORRTTIIFFIIEEDDD!!!!!! I was soooo embarrassed!!! HELLOOO ever heard of whispering "Pssstttt mom bla bla bla" instead of pretty much ANNOUNCING it SO loudly that everyone in the friggin store can hear??? Phhhtt What a douche!

Hmmmm I am long overdue for a postaroo! Time goes by so fast, next thing you know it's winter! Ok sooooo, What have I been up to. Well we went to the Saanich fair here on the weekend, It was awesome, horses, sheep, giant geese, the whole bit. I'll do another post on that cause I don't really feel like it right now. Anyhow I listed some stuff on eBay, lots of my favorite jeans that I have been procrastinating on listing. They are so cute! Check out my stuff. There is also a SSB resell up as well. More to come for sure, I have TONS to list! Another topic, my Daughter continues to crack me up more and more each day. She is getting smart on me. when the drink I give her is not the specific flavor she wanted it mysteriously goes missing, I say, where did it go? And she replies with, "I dunno...it just almost appears I guess" That is her version of "It disappeared" followed by "Ohhh well...just hafta get a new one I guess" with an innocent little sigh and shoulder shrug. Typical kid behavior right?

I'm tired today. Like REALLY tired. I just got new pillows and they are soooo soft and snuggly so my bed is calling me even more. I had to get the new pillows cause I wached Oprah on Monday and they were doing the whole microscopic thing with the pillows and the beds and *shudder* uck! I had to get new pillows. It was time for new pillows....I wish I could go to bed early...but Tornado Taya always leaves me something to do after she retreats to dreamland...or should I say, song singing blanket tossing care bear playing with land. Oh well at least the tornado comes to a halt at night long enough for me to make her a clean floor on which to empty the toybox on. But you know, I like the mess...I'm glad there is a little someone making a mess for me to clean :) I love it :)

Ohhhh cheeze fest on that title or what? Sorry I sometimes can't help myself! Just wanted to share this picture I took on the weekend. We went to my cousin's house on the weekend and she got 2 baby bunnies! The grey one is 'Tinkerbell', the black and white one that you can't really see only has 3 legs and the other one is a stub! Apparently his mama ate it, Talk about a bad mother! So he is aptly named 'Hook'. That's all for now, I have some more that I might share later :)

Finally a new design from the studios of moi! This is really on of my favorites ever. I was inspired by my hometown but more specifically Market Square. It's my first destination when we spend the day downtown. You think it's because of the delicious fudge shop don't you? Well you are correct hehehe, I am a sucker for maple fudge and you know I picked some up down there :) But it's not just the fudge. If you take a peek at my auction you will see why I love it so much. It's absolutely gorgeous!!! I can't get enough :) Anyhoo, I won't go on forever, I need to get sewing for the Indelible launch!!! The summer was a summer. A real SUMMER. This year we have had maybe 2-3 weeks worth of NICE weather combined here in Victoria. I remember the long summer days when I was little. Full of home made slip'n'slides and blue raspberry pop. And the long summer nights when I was a teenager, full of...well driving around, just cause we could lol! Even last year, although it was a scorcher, summer came very early and seemed to drag on forever! this year though, very disappointing! Taya is old enough now to do alot more things and we are sitting here doing nothing very summer-like at all because it is raining!!! Now September is less than 2 weeks away and we will be into fall. The whole year seems to be FALL around here! I know I know, pacific north west, rain rain rain, but COME ON! Throw me a bone here...or an umbrella or something!!!! I had big plans for this summer. Sheesh this post has turned into quite the whine fest and for that I am sorry, and I am sure that plenty of you live in the hot hot heat all year around and would love a little rain, but seriously, you KNOW how I hate wearing socks and shoes, I just don't wanna be soggy anymore!!! Frig, I can't even believe we are in 2007. I remember laughing in 2000 at everyone getting so excited for the winter Olympics here in Whistler in 2010 thinking bahhh that will NEVER come! And NOW that is only 2 years away! Ahhhhh somebody help I'm tripping out and feeling old LOL

Ok onto more important things. I will have a new listing up tomorrow!!! Weeeee!!! I'm really excited because it has been quite some time since I listed and I really enjoyed every step of this one, from the inspiration of the design conception to the photo shoot to the putting together of the auction template :) i am starting on my set tonight for the Joel Dewberry "Indelible" launch this Thursday the 23rd as well. There is a link over on the sidebar there that will take you to the auctions once it starts. I have seen some sneak peeks and so far everything is looking super fab!!! Ok so I should be sewing but my contacts were shriveling up in my eyes so I am doing a quick soak so they will last till this pair of pants is done :) So While they are soaking I was looking around on Facebook a little and just had to add this Daily Grey's Anatomy Quote thingie! And I'm gonna bring it over here for fun :) So Lookie over there somehwere ---> and you will find a little something hopefully daily :) If the quote is less than interesting I probably will just skip that day. I have some pictures to share but I can't! My monitor is broken so I really can't edit pictures if I want the rest of the world to think they look right. The screen is very dark and has a redish pinkish cast over it. Tick me off a little bit more why don't you....

How can a monitor break? Seriously....all it does is SIT there!!!! How annoying. Anyhow I'm going to have to borrow some other monitor in the house so I can edit my pictures for my groups launch coming up this week :) I'm almost done my set and I think I'm in love :) Ugg.. off to the store to but something else that will probably break. Three things I have bought there in the past 2 years and they are ALL broken. My mouse - jitting out and shooting off in all sorts of directions suddenly...not good when editing. The aforementioned monitor, piece of junk. And my Camera...don't even get me started on the camera! I'm going to go now before I find something else to complain about ;)...

A little Bing for ya ;) Seriously though, we were in a boutique today and she was playing with the kitchen toy while I was shopping and then I heard the crying. And it wasn't just whimpering and blubbering, it was FULL ON hysterics. I run over like what the heck is going on? And I can't understand a WORD she is saying. Anyhow you don't really need the play by play, but bottom line here is that she totally peed on the floor. I guess they were pretty used to it cause they didn't really care that much, just said they would clean it up. Now, they don't have a bathroom and I was smack dab in the middle of downtown. So I had to traipse the poor little wet monster all the way into the mall and to The Bay where I figured there would be something inexpensive and perhaps somewhere to change her. $20 later I wish I had remembered about that pull-up in the car! I got her a cute jean skirt with some white eyelet sticking out, but I didn't really want it, she already has 2 jean skirts she doesn't wear. Anyhoo, I guess she needs to still wear diapers on long public trips, she never pees in THOSE! What sense that makes I don't know. Ugg anyhow, theres my embarrassing gripe for the day. I promise the next post will be a positive one :) BUT I will say that I did feel better later cause another little girl peed on the floor of another store LOL. Not funny but you know...

Time just goes by so fast in the summer!!! Busy busy! I'm just going to make this quick cause it's almost 2am and it's hot and I'm tired. So is there anyone who actually ENJOYS going for a walk with their 3 year old in a stroller? Cause I gotta be honest here, I find it to be a pain in the dang but. I really feel like I'm doing something good, going for a walk, I'm getting some great excersize and the kid is getting some delicious fresh air right? WRONG - rather than getting fresh air, she's getting on my nerves, and instead of excersize all I'm getting is a freaking headache. Seriously folks, why can't she just sit up and keep her fingers and shoes out of the spokes? Does she HAVE to have every leaf and pinecone that she sees? And you KNOW if you pick up that stick she wants its going right in those spokes which will cause you to stop YET again. I doubt I get any shred of excersize at all. Pshhhh WHATEVERRRRR. I love her to death...but come on kid, throw me a bone here...or even a stick would be good...so long as it's not in the spokes...

Oh my word how I LOVE "new stuff". I was a little stressed so I needed some retail therapy, I don't care what anyone says, it does SO work! If feel better don't I? ;) I found this stinking adorable little tin, who knows what I will put in it, probably some sewing stuff since it matches my sewing room perfectly. It's so cute with that little bird nest and eggies and flailing feathers! Mmmm I love it!!! I also found this really neato wire mannequin type thingie, I'm gonna sew a cute little outfit for it! Obviously this is also for my sewing room, If I can find a proper place, cause otherwise I don't know where the heck to put it. There will be some changes happening in my sewing room, I'm going to start working on that cutting table I have been "going to start on" for like 6 months. Well now I REALLY AM going to start on it....right after the kitchen and my bedroom. OK, maybe before my bedroom. But that kitchen I tell you, some moron thought it was necessary to SLATHER the wall in blue wallpaper glue before putting up the self gluing wallpaper. WHATEVER, now I'm on the hunt for my Mouse "briefcase" type thing with all my accessories in it, I need the scrubbing one cause I started doing it by and and....ummmm NO. WAY too much work. Then I thought of my handy dandy Mouse. That briefcase type container thingie is in the.....*dun dunn duuunnnnnn*....storage room.....ohhhh the dreaded storage room. It WAS clean....it really was....but that was a few months and more than a few house cleans ago....it's piled about 4/6 of the way up to the roof, and that doesn't count the perimeter which IS piled up the the roof. *Sigh* I guess skipping the spring cleaning didn't help much to prepare me for summer renovations.....

Anyways, I hope you like my "new stuff"...oh I also got a freaking unbelievably gorgeous mirror, but that is another post...at a later date....And I know I promised to show you some studio pix...and I will, but the ones I was going to show you are old now, and some things got broken so I need to replace them....After that I will show you :) Have an awesome day!!!!!

Not much point to this post other than I love lillies! Specifically Stargazers, the hybrids just have no scent at all! What's the point of that? I didn't know that when I got these ones. Now I know :) Did you know if you eat a pink wintergreen mint at the same time as a red Mike'n'Ike it tastes like a lily smells? Well it does kinda :) Today I'm just peeling the dreadful faux tile puffy wallpaper off our kitchen walls. It's totally the ugliest crap I have ever seen!!! Luckily it replaced some wallpaper that was on their since the house was built so the walls are in perfect shape :) Gotta love that!!! Later I'll prime my closet walls. Bits and pieces at a time :) I can't stay on one project for too long or I'll abandon it. That's just me so I'll work with it instead of trying to fight it :) Welp, that was a nice little break! Back to it...

Woo Hoo! I finally got something useful running on sugarsweetboutique.com !!! I'm so excited! It obviously is not finished and will pretty much be a site with all my links, but I can't exactly put my eBay URL on my business cards for local customers y'know? I'm also getting my Etsy store up and running. I will be selling appliqued tanks and T's and long sleeves probably. Hopefully some other "stuff" too. Pin cushions or something. Who knows, I'm just looking to expand a little, although I LOVE designing and sewing clothing, sometimes it gets a little monotonous. I recently made a quilt and stuffie for a friends baby shower(sorry I was in a rush and didn't get any good pix) and I quite enjoyed it!!! So who knows what I will sew up(heaven knows I have a LOT of fabric), but I will keep you posted and let you know when I have the store stocked :) Anyways just wanted to share what I have been doing while I'm slacking off in the sewing department :) Oh also I'm starting the makeover on my bedroom, so stay tuned for that, I think it's going to come out pretty cool :) Pretty GREEN and pretty cool :)

Have I actually found something that will keep little Taya entertained for more than a nanosecond? Could the girl with the attention span of a FLY really play with this thing for hours? It seems that way!!! Now lets hope the novelty doesn't wear off too soon, cause I like me some sewing time that is not interrupted by a whining "I want" every 2 minutes. So it's this, Playful Penguins Racing game! WOWEEE!!! I LOVE this little thing. I just think it is the COOLEST toy ever and when I walked into the toy store in the mall today and heard that all to familiar "squeak click squeak click" I felt a wave of nostalgic joy come over me and just KNEW I had struck GOLD! I actually hollerd out "Woweeeee look at that!!" Yah...total dork. We had one of these when my little brother was a toddler and I haven't found one since! I couldn't get one on eBay cause I had no clue what it was called. Anyhow, if you can find one, seriously GET one, they are freaking cool and Taya sat in front of this thing for 2 hours straight today!!! Hey at least it's not TV. Mama needs a little break to....well all I did was watch TV...but wherever, like I ever get to watch TV, HELLO Bob's last day today and we had an Islander on the show!!! That was awesome!!! He totally bailed and it was the funniest freaking thing I have ever seen on Price is Right. But he won a car and he was a cool guy:) How Fun for him!!! Something about us, you just know a west coast Canadian when you see one :) If you watched today, he is a pretty good representation of what west coast Canadians are like. I will miss good ole Bob though! Price is Right is the BEST show ever. OK now I need to do something productive that does not involve the computer. My friend just emailed and said "Let's do lunch"....but I read "Let's do a launch". Time to get off the computer I'd say ;) Laters!!!

I have two new designs up on eBay right now. The first, "Melon Kiss" ends Tuesday and is an ooak size 2/3. A euro style print with three scrumptious colors of swiss dot fabric :) The second, "Candy Pop" ends on Wednesday and is made with my favorite fabric of all time, Tokyo Pop! It is pretty much impossible to find but I happened to have a friend who didn't need it anymore, yay for me!!! Yesterday we went to the park to shoot one of two new designs I will be listing on Tuesday (This is obviously not the set) She was being such a cutie rolling around in the flowers and rubbing them on her face :) Here is one of my favorites, she next to never looks at the camera so I was excited to get this one :) I'm not really sure what these flowers are, I tried to look it up and found a picture, but all it said was "Purple flowers" yeeaahhh thanks for the info bud! Anyhow it was a beautiful sea of purple :)

Decorating. For me it's not an easy task. Not because I don't know what I like or what I want, but because I know EXACTLY what I like and PRECISELY what I want! Can I ever find it? Heck no I can't!!!! Most of the time I am forced to just make what it is I have in mind, but sometimes that is not possible. This for instance, I have been looking for something like this for a long time, but I didn't really want to pay $50 for it. So I waited and waited and finally found one for $15, I would rather have paid like $5 or $10 but whatever. It apparently is a candle holder but you know once you light a candle in there the top is going to turn black, who can sit there trimming the wick every 10 minuits to prevent it? Not me!!! So now it's a vase :) Unconventional as it may be, I think it works!!! I wish it was a different color though, it kind of blends into my walls. Oh well, one day when I'm finished renovating my bedroom and the kitchen, it might get a new color. It will have to do for now. There is a huge lilac bush in the front yard and on a sunny spring day such as today was, with my studio window open, the breeze blows in and with it the slightest scent of lilac. It was too much of a teaser for me to handle and I HAD to get some for inside :) And there we have it. Of course then I just sat there sniffing it and taking pictures :) So much for sewing!

I have been tagged to reveal seven things about me by both Gyl and Michelle. Thanks you bums! Seven things about me hey? This will be hard.

1. When it is really sunny I squint with one eye and have the other one closed. I literally cannot have both eyes open at once. Also late at night, like right now, when the moniter is way too bright for my tired eyes, it's lefty all the way man!!! The latter is in part due to the fact that I have Bells Palsy, VERY strange for a 24yr old girl, and although the stmptoms have only really bothered me badly once, I believe I have perminent damage to my right eye. It sucks, but I am just thankful that my face looks normal, even when it's numb :) (Oooh #1's a twofer!!)

2. My favorite movie of all time is Napolean Dynamite. I have prolly watched it like 500 times and would watch it every freaking day If I had the time. It's incredible ;)

3. I used to play electric bass and guitar. My friend and I fabricated a band called 'Plutonica' and we actually wrote some not bad songs :) Still have the bass and guitar, but havn't played in years!!! The only song I know I can still play is Disarm by SP, which brings me to my next one...

4. From ages 13-17 I was obsessed with the Smashing Pumpkins and I can still sing along with every lyric of every song they ever wrote :) I can also sing just like Billy Corgan, not sure if that is a good thing or what LOL, It might just mean I can sing through my nose:) I'm sure the familiarity of his voice will bring me solace every time I hear it...the kind where you close your eyes and just smile y'know?

5. I had a horrible pregnancy and remember nothing but vomiting, sorrow and tears and that makes me sad.

6.I have a hard time making it a point to talk about myself and I'm surprised that I have made it this far!

7. Ok last one, something flakey, something trivial...hmmm...Ok I hate wearing socks and I hate wearing pants!!!

GOSH that took a freaking hour!!!

Cherry Blossoms!

Last weekend we went up the Island and Taya just loved the cherry blossom trees :) The breeze was gathering up the fallen petals in little piles, she called them her "special flower gardens" SO cute :) I could NOT stop taking pix but I'm just sharing one real quick :)

Ok Ladies get prepared to see the smallest computer desk EVER. I did it on purpose. As discussed previously, I'm MESSY. I wanted to minimize the space in which to make a mess so I got the smallest desk I could find. As you can see there is room for a tea cup or two and the small messyness has to stay on the keyboard tray underneath :) This is the corner of my....whatever. My place is just one giant room, so this is the corner of my giant room LOL. TV and couch is behind me, that is Taya's armoire beside me and the rest I just use for a play room... it all ends up a playroom anyhow so why not just make it the best and funnest you can right? Ok so as we can see the speakers have fallen on the floor and have been there for 2 weeks actually...yup! I'm THAT lazy haha, who wants to wrestle that mess of wires back there? Not ME! I can hear them just fine from down there;) We have a photoalbum in there that is full of BEAUTIFUL images not taken by me....lets just say I used to work at a photlab...the rest of that sentence would be illegal so we will leave it at that ;) Hmm what else...am I even supposed to be giving commentary on these or???? Whatever I'm doing it anyhow, over to the left we have an awesome headband that Gyl made me to match my awesome Rhembein bag. She is also the kindly lady that tagged me. We also have an adorable hair flower by Geeta of Babette!. Also some "decorating" by Taya. And now you are bored so I'm just gonna shutty :) Who the heck do I tag? Becky? ...just eat this. I can hardly even look at it without running to the kitchen to make these again. I have refrained for 3 months. No bake cherry cheesecake tarts if it's not obvious what these are. If I make them...I will eat them ALL. Oinker? Maybe.... Delicious? Understatment of the century! If you now cannot controll yourself and MUST make these, don't use anything but E.D. Smith cherry pie filling for topping. It is the best of the best! Now I have to go find something to eat cause I'm DYING looking at that scrumptious little tarteroo. This is just a new post to freshen up the place while I clean up my sewing room to share with you all :)

***RECIPE***
Ok here is the recipe if you want it :) Smush up 1 1/4 cups of digestive cookies or graham crackers (I prefer the digestive cookies) mix it with 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup melted butter. Press it into a glass..ummm 8x8 I think, 9x9? I dunno whatever the square one is, the culinary courses I took have long left my mind I'm afraid! then bake it at 350F for 8-10 minuts. Or you can be like me and devide it up into 24 large size cupcake papers(same baking time)

So while that is cooking take two 8oz things of cream chesse softened and mix it with 1teaspoon of vanilla extract. Mix in 1/2 cup of icing sugar. I run it through the sifter of course to prevent lumps. Ok now go bean 1 cup of whipping cream and fold it into the creamcheese mixture. Plunk that down into the cooled crust(s) and refirgerate for a few hours. I think it's best left overnight, it tastes much more cream cheesie y'know? Then top it all of with one can of E.D Smith cherry pie filling. I know, not rocket science! Easiest thing to make and so quick too :)
So recap:
2 - 8oz pkg Cream Cheese
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Icing Sugar
1 cup Whipping Cream

1 1/4 Crumbs (digestive or graham)
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 sugar (totally optional, but It's so fattening who cares, just go for the sugar man!)

Ahhh the onset of spring :) I am trying to FULLY enjoy the spring time now that it is finally here :) After months upon months of rain and mud, I welcome spring with an open sunroof and sandals galore. Boy was I tired of wearing shoes! I HATE shoes!!! They make my toes clausterphobic, who knows if I even spelled that right, but that's what they are when I have to wear shoes. The piggies have a mind of their own. They like fresh air and they wiggle around like they just might DIE if they can't get loose immediatly! As for the sunroof, I love it. I have a black Honda and it gets HOT in there, I also have no air conditioning and each year I don't think I'll make it another day in that blistering ovenmobile. At least the sunroof lets the heat excape, but then I have the sun burning my skin right off. I dont wanna be wrinkly so I wear my pink Jimmie Johnson cap, but hten I get sweaty and that is gross. I can't win, lets face it, I need air conditioning!!! (See what I mean about the complaining? Story of my life...)

Don't know how I got to toes and sweaty hats but my point of this post was to share these pics of Taya. With the onset of spring comes her rejuvination of her love of bubbles!!! She'll take any bubble in any fashion at any time of the day. These were Miracle bubbles with a wand at about 2pm ;) I love her bubble blowing face, as if filling your cheeks with air till they almost burst is at all necessary. We got this bubble container thing, let me tell you what a saviour it has been! I'm looking forward to NOT stepping in goo on the deck, this kid spills bubbles like nobodies business...as I'm sure all 2 1/2 yr olds do ;) Anyhow it's a no spill bubble bucket. I see they have Dora and Diego ones now, but we have an octopus. Get one, you won't be sorry!!! And how I overlooked this little gem I don't know, but Toys'r'us here we come!!!

Than with a new design from yours truly! I have to admit, and I do this happily, that I am just addicted to these Freshcut fabrics! I picked up the ivory crysanthemum print, among many others, and snagged the perfect dupioni silk to pair it with. This silk is DElish!!! Anyhoo, these two could not live alone so I plunked some brown sugar denim ontop of the two and it was love at first sight!!! Not sure of how that would go with the general public, I had to confer with Eva. Evedently she was pondering the same thing, as usual - wooohoo weirness, Dupioni and Denim....ahhhh what a beautiful mix! And so this launch was born...and I was a week late for it! Oops!!!!!
